Step 1
Ensure it’s plugged in and press the power button on the front left, labeled, “power.”
Step 2
Grind the coffee while the espresso machine warms up – she takes about 30 seconds to do the startup ritual (ready when it stops flashing)
- Remove the “porta filter” (big black handle thing).
- Insert it into the front of the coffee grinder.
- Push the porta filter against the coffee grinder and release.
Step 3
Level and tamp the grinds.
- The tamper is the flat puck looking thing. Just push it against the coffee in the porta filter enough to flatten it. This is not rocket surgery. Too light is better than too firm on the pressure.
Step 4
Insert the porta filter into the espresso machine. The handle should be sticking straight out, and not at an angle.
Step 5
Put coffee cup under the porta filter.
Step 6
Press and hold the two cup button on the right of the machine for four (4) seconds and then release – the button shows two cups.
- Coffee should be coming out after a few seconds.
Step 7
Monitor your coffee filling in the cup. After about 25 seconds (depending upon cup size, press and release the “two cup” button. This will stop the machine.
- You don’t want a full cup of coffee.
