How do I make a booking?

What forms of payment are accepted?
We accept all major cards: Visa, Mastercard, American Express.

Yes. Of course!
- 2 Week discount: 10%
- 1 Month discount: 25%
Getting to and Using Your Vacation House
How will I get information about the house: Address, how to use stuff (TV, Wi-Fi), and local attractions?
You will receive an email with lots of important and useful information about your Waterfront Vacation Rental near Crystal River. If you do not get it, please check your spam folder.
Within 7 days of your arrival, you will receive another email with more detailed instructions such as door code and property access.
How do I get into the property?
The door has an electronic keypad. Prior to your arrival, you will receive the code to open the door and the guest book that has more important information about the house such as Wi-Fi, and other instructions.
We can't get the TV/DVD/Internet/etc working. Are there instructions in the unit?
How close are you to Orlando?
Hideout Heights near Crystal River is about 2 hours from Orlando.
What time is check in and check out?
Check in is at 4:00 PM.
Check out is at 11:00 AM.
(We always do our best to accommodate our guest’s schedule and allow early check in and late checkout if we can)
What do I need to do when I leave the house? What are the checkout procedures?
Upon check-out, we kindly ask that you empty all trash cans and place all trash in the receptacles downstairs. Don’t forget to check for all of your belongings! If you leave stuff, please leave fishing gear or other things we can use. 😉
How close are you to Crystal River?
The house is just a 15 minute drive from the heart of Crystal River. This allows you to enjoy peaceful and secluded nature and be just around the corner from the action.
How close are you to Tampa?
About 1 hour and 45 minutes.
How close are you to Miami?
Hideout Heights near Crystal River is about 5 hours from Miami.
General Questions
Is the kitchen fully equipped?
Yes. We love to cook, so we do our best to have as much good stuff as we can. Spices, mixing bowls, Weber-Q grill on the screened porch, condiments ready to go for you, snacks in the pantry (we know the kids are always wanting snacks)
Is there a washer and dryer?
Yes. There is detergent as well.
Can I put my boat at the dock?
Heck yes. There is a large floating dock for your use. It floats up and down with the tide, so you can tie your boat up and not worry about it.
Is Hideout Heights family friendly
Yes. The house and property are the perfect place for families to enjoy. There are fun and activities for everyone.
Is the dock private?
Yes. The house has a beautiful boardwalk that goes to the two private docks. There is fresh water and electric on the docks as well as a cleaning station for your fish and scallops.
Is the boat lift available?
Maybe. Here is the thing. The boat lift is set up for my 1988 Boston Whaler that is not a deep v boat. If you are staying for three weeks or more, and your boat weighs less than 5000 pounds including the motor, we can try and make the lift work for you so long as we do not have to adjust the bunks. The Whaler has a flatter bottom, so the bunks will not allow for a deep V boat. But if you have a bay boat, or a flats boat, we can try to get you set up.
Policies and Notices
Can I smoke in the house?
Smoking is prohibited in the house. You can smoke downstairs and outside of the screen porch. If there are indications of smoking in the house, there will be an additional cleaning fee of $250 charged.
What is your cancellation policy?
- 60 days prior to your arrival: you will be refunded the entire amount less the initial deposit of 50%.
- 45 days prior to your reservation: 25% of the entire amount will be refunded.
- Less than 30 days prior to your reservation, no refund will be given.
Do you allow pets?
No. Pets are not allowed in the house. We love animals. Why do we not allow pets if we love animals? Not everyone else feels the same way and we want the property to be enjoyed by people.
When is the final balance due?
60 days prior to your arrival the remainder of your balance will be collected.
Outdoor Activities
Where can I learn more about fun stuff to do?
Visit the website. We have heaps of information there. Also, feel free to call or text us and we will point you in the right direction.
Hunting. Can we shoot on the property?
We know that it seems like a great place to shoot. But please don’t shoot on the property. Go HERE instead. They have everything from pistol ranges and to a 600 yard rifle range.
Fishing. Can you give us some great local spots?
Yes. Let me know what type of fishing you’d like to do and I will give you some GPS locations and tell you the best bait to use there.
Is the fishing good near the house?
Heck yes. The fishing is extremely good. We have snook and tarpon depending on the season, and bass and catfish year round right off the dock. There is also a crab trap at the dock. You must follow local regulations, but if you were to throw some chicken in there and set it in the water, I’d bet you’d pull in some blue crabs.
